Our Year 10 Geography students had a fantastic field trip to Hornsea today, investigating both physical and human geography in action.
Along the coast, students measured groynes to assess the impact of longshore drift and examined different sea defences. They also explored the town itself, comparing contrasting areas to investigate tourism and patterns of urban inequality. As part of this, students collected primary data by assessing environmental quality, housing conditions, and indicators of social deprivation across different streets.
It was a beautiful sunny day (if a little windy!), and some of our students enjoyed classic seaside treats like fish and chips, doughnuts, and ice cream.
A valuable and engaging experience for all, and an important part of their GCSE Geography course.
